Cheryl Brennan

I grew up in Foster, moved to Melbourne where I worked for 5 years before moving back to the country and raising my family with my partner in South Gippsland. I have worked in caring roles for over 20 years, including 8 years in a Specialist School and recently completing early childhood diagnoses as an Early Childhood Early Intervention Coordinator.

My aim is to promote and enable people to become independent members of the community and to create a supportive network where individuals can explore new interests in a safe environment. I enjoy spending time out in nature and have a love of animals. My own passions include: drumming, camping, fishing, bush walking, bird watching, yoga and I enjoy craft activities. I love cooking on a camp fire and using ingredients from my own edible garden.

I am a qualified educator and hold a current Teaching Registration, and have had recent training in; Positive Behaviour Support, which assists to promote positive changes to empower healthy lifestyles. I have completed training as a DRUMBEAT facilitator, which enables people to further develop and understand relationship skills, through the use of drumming exercises. I was lucky enough to be involved in developing an edible garden program and completed training though the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Program and enjoy incorporating fresh ingredients in my cooking experiences. I have an interest in and use PECS communication systems, visual schedules and use Key Word Sign when required.

I have extensive experience working with people in multiple age groups and their families with many differing and complex abilities and strive to accommodate everyones individual needs.
